KOHIMA: Abu Metha, Associate Vice President of Athletics Federation of India, was appointed as Team Leader of the Indian Team to World Athletics U20 Championships.
The championship is going to take place in Nairobi, Kenya where Abu Metha will lead the Indian delegation at the Opening Ceremony which makes him the first from the Northeast to do so.

Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio took to Twitter and congratulated Abu Metha, "Congratulations to Shri @abumetha on being appointed Team Leader of the Indian Team to the @WorldAthletics U20 Championships in Nairobi, Kenya and for leading the Indian delegation at the Opening Ceremony which is the first for the North East. I wish the team all success."
Metha is Adviser to CM Rio as well and General Secretary of Nagaland's ruling party Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP).
