The Jongpha Unit of the Rengma Naga Students' Union (RNSUJU) earlier today organized a COVID-19 awareness camp at Jongpha under the Nilip Constituency in Karbi Anglong District of Assam.
Notably, the camp was held nineteen days after the Virus Prevention Awareness Campaign, organized by the Jongpha Village Defence Party (JVDP) on April 3 at Jongpha. The second phase of the lockdown was organized by the Rengma Naga Students' Union, wherein the student body sought to alert the locals about the dangers posed by the virus, and also advised them on what preventive measures to take.
The Rengma body, informing the people about the exponential rise in the number of cases across the country and across the world, urged everyone to stay more vigilant in the fight against the deadly disease.
They urged the locals to take all preventive measures like social distancing, regular hand washing, wearing pf surgical mask etc, to keep the virus at bay. The Rengma body further pointed out that the awareness against the virus is the need of the hour and will help the people in defeating the COVID-19 that spreads through contact.
Those families who domesticate cattle were also urged to maintain hygiene as the deadly disease is said to be zoonotic (transmitted between animal to human). Thereafter, the student body distributed surgical masks to all those present.
