ASSAM RIFLES ARRESTS NSCN(K) CADRE IN KOHIMA

Guwahati, March 2,2018:

The Assam Rifles has arrested one NSCN (K) cadre from general area Old NST Bus Stand in Kohima.

The cadre was arrested during a joint operation by Chieswema and Kohima Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (N), along with police representative based on specific intelligence regarding presence of NSCN (K) in the area.

The cadre, identified as Vepa Hekho a resident of Sethotsou village under Phek district, confessed his prolonged involvement in collection of illegal taxes and extortion. The recovery from the individual included two extortion slips of NSCN (K) and a sum of Rs 1250.

The individual along with recovered items was handed over to North Police Station Kohima for further investigation.
