The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Nagaland Abhijit Sinha has informed that to ensure free and fair elections, CCTV surveillance shall be installed in the polling stations across the state with either webcasting where or offline video photography. A press release issued by the CEO said that additional manpower for webcasting has been identified by the District Electoral Officers (DEOs) specifically for the CCTV surveillance known as Operator. The operator shall, however, be under the overall supervision of the Presiding Officer and the 1st Polling Official who have been given hands-on training on the various aspect of webcasting. On the day of poll, the proceedings in the polling booth shall be monitored by the respective RO or DEO and the CEO. The CEO in his press statement stated that webcasting system shall be installed one day prior to the day of poll at the Polling Station after the Polling Party reaches the location and checked the system.
