College students carry out protest in Nagaland

Thousands of college students staged dharna across many places in Nagaland on Friday under the banner of the All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) in protest against the alleged inaction of the State government on its various “genuine demands.”

As per reports, the college students sat for dharna in Kohima, Dimapur, Wokha, Zunheboto, Peren and Phek districts.

In Kohima, the college students staged peaceful dharna in front of ANCSU office to put pressure on the State government to concede to their demands, including settlement of Kohima Science College Jotsoma land encroachment issue, permanent settlement of scholarship issue, etc.

According to ANCSU, the college students had decided on 8^th August to abstain from attending classes with effect from 10^th August till their demands were met.
