KOHIMA: As many as 33 out of 47 samples collected from a village in Mon district of Nagaland were found positive on May 7 and the Deputy Commissioner of Mon district has released a notice to self-report for whoever has visited the village in the last three weeks.

The village named Changlangshu has become a new COVID-19 hotspot of sorts in Nagaland.

The village reported a positivity rate of 70% which had seemingly put the persons who had visited the village at high risk.

Thavaseelan K, deputy commissioner of Mon, had released a notification requesting all persons who had attended the Changlangshu revival Camp from April 21 to April 25 or even visited Changlangshu Village in the past three weeks to self-report.

"Early testing and treatment are critically important for COVID-19 management and control," he stated in a release.

The District administration has also provided two numbers to report (9862078993/8787645487).

Nagaland reported the highest single day spike of this year with 333 new COVID-19 positive cases over the past 24 hours. Four new cases are from the Mon district.
