Nagaland is under a dengue scare following reports of at least 47 confirmed positive cases so far.
According to sources, altogether 296 samples from various government and private hospitals were tested at the Sentinel Surveillance Site Laboratory (SSSL), District Hospital Dimapur from July to 9th August, of which 47 tested positive for dengue.
Dimapur District Vector Borne Officer Dr Imliwabang Aier said private healthcare institutions have been asked to send samples of suspected dengue cases to the SSSL for getting a confirmed result.
He explained that dengue could be confirmed only through ELISA test, and whose test kit is currently available only at SSSL, District Hospital Dimapur.
