KOHIMA: In a fillip to the Nagaland BJP, Dr M Chuba Ao, a National Vice President and Legislator Mmhonlumo Kikon, a National Spokesperson have been entrusted a state each, when the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) released its list of new state in-charges on November 13.
Dr Chuba was appointed the new in-charge of Meghalaya while Mmhonlumo was given the task to oversee Mizoram.
On September 26, both were inducted into BJP’s new national team – Dr Chuba as one of Vice Presidents and Mmhonlumo as a National Spokesperson, when Party President JP Nadda announced a new team of party national office bearers.
Meanwhile, according to a BJP’s statement, among others, Nalin Kohli has been entrusted with party affairs in Nagaland while BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra was also named as the new in-charge of Manipur.
Baijayant Panda, a Vice President, was also given the charge of Delhi and Assam while Dilip Saikia, a newly appointed BJP general secretary, will oversee Jharkhand and Arunachal Pradesh.
Vinod Sonkar was given charge of Tripura while Sukanta Majumdar has been entrusted Sikkim.
Patton congratulates Dr Chuba, Mmonlumo
Meanwhile, the Deputy Chief Minister and BJP Legislature Party (BLP) leader Y Patton congratulated Dr Chuba and Mmhonlumo on their new assignment..
In a press release issued by the Dy CMO’s Media Cell on Saturday, Patton expressed confidence that they will do justice to their assigned responsibilities in uplifting the image of the party, and wished them both well.
Patton also expressed appreciation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP party president JP Nadda for their farsightedness to include the two leaders which, he said, would give impetus to the party in the region.
