Dimapur: Massive crowds were seen thronging the Durga Puja pandals of Nagaland's Dimapur on Sunday (October 25), giving rise to fears of yet another mass outbreak of the COVID-19 virus. All the safety measures went for a complete toss.
Footage from some of the busier locations of Nagaland's commercial centre shows people visiting puja pandals without following the precautions advised by the government to prevent yet another outbreak of the COVID-19.
In clips that are being shared widely on social media, the COVID-19 protocols have gone for a complete. Revellers, busy enjoying the festivities of the yearly festivities, were barely separated by an inch, it was witnessed.

This year, the government has advised the public to keep the celebrations low-key as no vaccine has yet been found for the novel coronavirus that has already killed over 11 lakh people across the globe.
Meanwhile, the number of cases are also on the rise in Nagaland. Nagaland reported 111 new positive cases of COVID-19, said S Pangnyu Phom, Nagaland Health and Family Welfare Minister on Sunday.
Nagaland Health and Family Welfare Minister said that out of total cases reported yestetrday, Dimapur reported 50 new cases while Kohima reported 29 cases of coronavirus. 23 people were tested positive in Mon while Kiphire recorded six new cases of the infection.
Mokokchung, Peren, and Wokha reported one case each of coronavirus.
