After calling a meeting of all Eastern Naga civil society bodies, the ENPO urged Eastern Nagas to abstain from any national celebrations and not to participate in Army civic programmes.

The statement of Union Home Minister in the Indian Parliament, where he had stated that, the security forces fired in self defence should be withdrawn, the body demanded.
The Government of India should revoke the draconian law, Arm Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA), 1958 from the entire North Eastern States, it further said.
On 6 December, the Nagaland Police registered a First information report against the 21 Para Special Forces, bringing charges of first degree murder. The National Human Rights Commission of India has sent notices to the central and the state governments.
