DIMAPUR: Rev. Dr. Shiwoto Assumi, former president of the Nagaland Revival Church (NCRC), Sumi, Purana Bazar at Dimapur passed away on September 26.
The Council Nagalim Churches (CNC) has expressed deep grief on the sudden demise of Assumi.
CNC said, " He was a tall and gifted Spiritual leader among the Nagas, an eloquent and passionate preacher of the gospel, a peacemaker, and a committed and dedicated soldier of Christ.
In a condolence message, CNC said, "We the Nagas have lost a spiritual father, a spiritual ideologue, and a guide in his death and the void left by his death will be difficult to fill.
"The CNC Executive Committee and employees send its profound sympathies to Assumi's lovely wife, Yanbesi Assumi, and children, as well as all the bereaved family members, and pray that God Almighty would provide them peace and comfort during this difficult time," it added.

State Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio also expressed his sorrow for the Reverend's death.
"He was not only a powerful and charismatic preacher but a genuine human being who had deep concerns for the welfare of the Naga people. Late Reverend Shiwoto, wherever he went, preached about brotherhood and love - a message for which he will be fondly remembered. Indeed, he was one of the pillars of Nagaland Christian Revival Church", he said in a message issued on Monday.
Rio offered condolences to the bereaved family members.
Assumi was a former Vice President of the Bible Society of India's Dimapur Auxiliary, a former Principal of Living Bible College.
