A few months back, flipkart was caught up in social media storm after mis interpreting the cultural attire of Nagaland and selling attires which nowhere near the traditional costume.
In a recent development, a customer from Nagaland questioned Flipkart on why the website no longer delivers items to Nagaland.
In the complaint the customer wrote, “Why is Flipkart not delivering to Nagaland? We still didn’t get independence and we are still a part of India. Treat all states equally.”

In the response, Flipkart came up with shocking reply, “Sorry to hear that. We appreciate your interest in shopping with us. However, sellers do not provide our services outside India.”
The comment eventually caught the attention of many people including former director general of police, Nagaland, Rupin S Sharma who further tweeted, “Although not with Flipkart, even I had this experience once. Nagaland is India #Flipkart.”
Eventually, after many social media backlashing and re-tweets, by Thursday evening Flipkart resumed delivery in th state with an apology on Facebook commented, “We are extremely sorry about the nation, including regions in Nagaland. We are happy to connect with you and provide currently available options.”
