Former Nagaland Minister T Tali Ao passes away at 77T TALO AO

Kohima, February 13, 2020:

Former Minister & Parliament Secretary, T Tali Ao passed away in the morning on February 12 due to old-age related ailments. He was 77.

As per a notification, T Tali Ao was born on September 16, 1942 in Kangtsung village. According to reports, the prominent Naga leader did his schooling at Clark Memorial High school, Impur and graduated from Kohima Arts college. He marked his foray into politics in 1977 when he contested the Nagaland Legislative Assembly elections from 21 Tuli A/C.

He was elected as member of legislative assembly five times and served in various capacities as Chairman, Parliamentary Secretary and Minister of Nagaland.

Mourning his demise, Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio wrote, "The people of Nagaland have lost a good and prominent leader who loved & served the public for many years with zeal & commitment. Condolences to the bereaved family..."

Deputy CM Y Patton said that he is saddened to learn of the passing away of the former Minister Tali. "He will continue to be remembered for his foresight and commitment for the people, nevertheless, his demise leaves a void. I extend my condolences to the bereaved family and pray that his soul rests in peace", Patton said.

NDPP President Chingwang Konyak also condoled his demise. "I am grieved to learn about the demise of my old political associate T. Talinungsang this morning. An affable and simple

person, he was the epitome of simple living high standards and he had represented Tuli Assembly Constituency for so many decades", he said.
