The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF), the apex student body in Nagalandm, has hailed the "understanding" that has been reached between the Government of India and the Isaak Muivah faction of the Nationalist Socialist Council of Nagalim.
In a press release undersigned by Ninoto Awomi, the President of NSF, and General Secretary Liremo R Kikon, the NSF stated that it is "pleased to learn that the 31st october meeting between the Government of India (GOI) and NSCN-IM ended on a positive note and that an understanding has been reached between the two parties."

The NSF stated that it believes it has always maintained that the abrogation of the peace process due to differences between the negotiating would prove too costly for the future of the Nagas.
The NSF welcomed this "positive development" and appreciated both the parties for the political dialogue for adopting such "progressive policies" and resorting to ways that could eventually reign in a peaceful future for the Naga people.

The student body further asserted that it is convinced that this recent development is another landmark towards "amicably resolving the South-East Asia’s longest movement for self determination in a manner which will uphold the legitimate rights and unique history of the Nagas."
Meanwhile, the Home Ministry has informed that an official statement will be released only after consulting with Arunachal, Assam, and Manipur, and "their concerns will be taken into consideration".
