Nagaland: 4 Drug Peddlers Nabbed with Arms and Contraband Items in Dimapur

Dimapur, November 15, 2019:

As many as four drug peddlers were apprehended, along with a huge quantity of contraband items and arms, by a team of Dimapur Police from 3rd Mile during a checking operation on Monday.

The team of security personnel recovered a huge quantity of contraband items that includes 23 packets of suspected heroin neatly packed in soap cases, one .22 country-made pistol with one magazine, 90 packets of Yaba tablets (approx 18,000 tablets), one Scorpio car bearing registration No.WB74J 1171, suspected to be stolen (along with key). The team also recovered a cash amount of Rs.3,10,000.

The accused have been identified as Pavi Poumai (25 yrs), Sho Poumai (28 yrs), Kangba Maram (35 yrs) and Daphru Poumai (38 yrs). All of them hail from Manipur.

A case has been registered in connection to the case of drug peddlers and further investigation is on.

It is to be mentioned here that a large consignment of narcotics was found in Tengnoupal district OF Manipur on Tuesday.
