49 new positive cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in Nagaland out of 916 samples tested on Sunday, 23 August 2020. Out of the 49 cases, 31 registered in Kohima, 10 in Dimapur, 5 in Mon, 2 in Tuensang & 1 in Mokokchung.
The Nagaland Health Minister S Pangnyu Phom tweeted,”Update! 49 new +ve cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed out of 916 samples tested. 31 in Kohima, 10 in Dimapur, 5 in Mon, 2 in Tuensang & 1 in Mokokchung. Necessary contact tracing have been activated and all primary contacts are under self isolation.”

The state has reported 92 recoveries of COVID-19 positive patients on 22nd August,2020. 72 from Kohima, 18 from Dimapur & 2 from Peren.
India recorded 397,277 cases of the coronavirus disease (Covid-19), including more than 5,700 deaths, in a week, taking the country’s infection tally to over 3 million, data from the Union health ministry showed on Sunday.
There were 69,239 Covid-19 cases and 912 deaths between Saturday and Sunday morning, according to the health ministry’s dashboard at 8am. The country’s tally was at 2,647,663, including 50,921 deaths, at the beginning of the week on August 17.
The health ministry of India informed,“The record high recoveries have ensured that the actual caseload of the country viz. the active cases, has reduced and currently comprises only 23.43% of the total positive cases.”
