NAGALAND: ASSAM RIFLES APPREHENDS ONE WITH ILLEGAL ARMS

Medziphema battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) conducted an operation alongwith a police representative in general area Chumukdema on 12 May 2018.

During the operation Assam Rifles troops apprehended one individual with illegal possession of weapon. The individuals was identified as Mr Zhovi age 45 years, s/o (Late) Hibu Weo, resident of Virouzuma village, House No 45, Chumukedima, Dimapur District.

The individuals revealed the details of the arms supplier following which the Assam Rifles troops apprehended Mr Udit Gogoi from Virouzuma village, Chumukedima.

The recoveries from the operation included one  point 22 mm pistol with magazine and one live round of point 22mm ammunition.

The apprehendees along with recovered items were handed over to Chumukedima Police Station Dimapur for further investigation.
