DIMAPUR: The Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) has urged all the 60 legislators of the Nagaland Assembly to resign.
“Their resignation will only demonstrate their sincerity towards implementation of a political solution,” the NPCC said.
Quoting Centre’s interlocutor for Naga talks cum Governor RN Ravi, it said that there was nothing more to talk about.
The Political Affairs Committee of the Pradesh Congress decided to make the appeal while deliberating on the recent formation of the Parliamentary Committee and Core Committee on Naga political issues by members of the Assembly at a meeting at Congress Bhavan in Kohima two days back.

The meeting discussed the current political situation in the State and emerging disturbances along the Assam-Nagaland border.
The meeting cautioned the Assam government against passing the Assam Cattle Preservation Bill, 2021 “that is bound to create more trouble for neighboring hill states and destroy the age-old ties that have withstood the test of time”.
It said the “recent border provocation” from the Assam side by deploying armed police personnel well ahead of neutral Central armed police forces (CAPFs) is of serious concern.
The NPPC was of the view that both Assam and Nagaland governments have taken the wrong path in resolving the long-standing boundary disputes.
“Since the matter is still pending in the Supreme Court, the Assam government must stop its provocation and withdraw its armed police personnel from newly occupied positions,” it said.
The NPCC demanded that the CAPFs deployed along the disputed border areas must be placed under direct control and supervision of the Ministry of Home Affairs.
