Nagaland Lockdown extended till June 18 with further relaxations

KOHIMA: Nagaland's government has decided to continue with the ongoing lockdown till June 18 to arrest the spread of COVID-19, albeit with a few more relaxations.

The High Power Committee after a thorough discussion with all the District Task Forces has decided to extend the lockdown in Nagaland till June 18 with a further set of relaxations, informed Nagaland government spokesperson Mmhonlumo Kikon.

Respective DTFs will issue necessary orders for relaxations as per the situation in the districts!," he wrote on his personal Twitter moments earlier.

Meanwhile, the Department of Health and Family Welfare has intensified the COVID vaccination drive from June 8 till June 18 wherein all health facilities and outreach session sites in urban colonies and villages will be covered, Principal Director Dr. Neikhrielie Khimiao.

All eligible persons above the age of 18 years have been requested to avail of the opportunity.

People with disabilities have also been requested to contact the health workers in their area, who will give special priority to get them vaccinated, said Dr. Khimiao.

Meanwhile, the state Home Department in a circular informed all Heads of Departments including the offices of SBI, BSNL, and Post Office in the Civil Secretariat Complex, Kohima to submit by Tuesday a list of officers and staff who have not been vaccinated for COVID-19 till date.

Today, the government of Arunachal Pradesh has also reduced lockdown restrictions in the state.

However, the Itanagar Capital Complex (ICC) district administration has extended the Covid lockdown in the area until June 21. The shops will remain open on alternate days.

The state government has ordered the closure of all shops and commercial establishments at 2 pm in the Itanagar Capital Complex.
