NAGALAND: MAJ. GEN. PRADEEP C NAIR TAKES OVER AS IG ASSAM RIFLES (NORTH)

Major General Pradeep C Nair, YSM assumed the appointment of Inspector General Assam Rifles (North) today. He takes over as the 18th Inspector General Assam Rifles (North).

The General Officer is an alumnus of Sainik School Satara, National Defence Academy, and Indian Military Academy and got commissioned to 18 SIKH in Dec 1985. He has vast experience of the North East having served in Sikkim, Nagland, Manipur and Assam. The General Officer has also served in Assam Rifles earlier. The General Officer has commanded his battalion at Assam, Faizabad and in Siachen. He commanded a Brigade in Manipur, wherein he was awarded the Yudh Seva Medal.

In a solemn ceremony Major General Sanjay Gupta handed over the charge to Major General Pradeep C Nair, YSM and wished him a professionally satisfying and successful tenure as IGAR (North).
