Dimapur: First shots of the COVID-19 vaccine 'Covaxin', developed by the Serum Institute of India, today reached Nagaland and Mizoram amid preparations to administer doses to "frontline personnel" in the first phase of vaccination on January 16.
In Nagaland, the first batch of COVID-19 vaccines reached the Dimapur Airport earlier today. The vaccination drive will commence on Saturday.

Similarly, Mizoram too received its first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine Covaxin, with a total of 18,500 doses of the vaccine being flown into capital city Aizawl under cover of heavy security. Around 100 health personnel in the state will receive the first doses of the vaccine.
