The Naga Student's Federation under the aegis of Northeast Student's Organisation (NESO) organised a sit in protest outside Raj Bhavan, Kohima demanding and standing outright to oppose and denounce the proposed Citizenship (Amendment) Bill.

The Federation  will go to any extend to protect the rights of the indigenous inhabitants and fight against the central government proposed Bill.

General Secretary, NSF, Imtiyapang Imsong termed the proposed Bill as anti Northeast and anti indigenous, reminding that the people of NorthEast has already been overburdened  by the influx of illegal immigrants from neighbouring Bangladesh. Imsong said that even though 1971 was the cutoff year for any refugees to be granted citizenship of India, Government of India is trying to burden the indigenous inhabitants of NE by legalising the illegal immigrants to be a citizen of the country.

Imsong said "We are done and over burdened, Northeast is not a dumping ground for illegal immigrants and we are deadly against it, we will go to any extend to protect our rights".

The NSF officials submitted a representation to the Nagaland Governor, P. B. Acharya addressed to the Chairman, Joint Committee on Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, Rajendra Agarwal, MP.

In the representation, the NSF mentioned that the continued and unabated influx of refugees and undocumented immigrants from the neighbouring countries has further threatened the existence of indigenous people in respect to their culture, social, economic and political identity and NSF further appeal to the Government of India that the Bill be recommended as anti-National and detrimental to the very existence of the good citizens of the country.
