KOHIMA: Nagaland's first-ever In-service Service Teachers Training cum Examination Centre's foundation stone was laid by DoNER Minister G Kishan Reddy in Pherima of Dimapur district yesterday.
"The teachers are the builders of the future of the Nation and classroom teaching will create the future leaders of the country as the single most factor that will influence outcome among the children," said Reddy.
The project is to be completed at an estimated cost of Rs. 15.5 crore and have residential facilities as well.

"The Modi government wants the Northeast region to attain 100 per cent literacy rate and this should be the challenge for the state governments of the region," Reddy expressed.
"Nagaland was lacking such an institute but grateful that DoNER Ministry sanctioned the establishment of the first institute," said K.T. Sukhalu, advisor for state school education.
