KOHIMA: Nagaland reported 32 new COVID-19 cases taking the state’s total to 11,634 on Friday, state Health and Family Minister S Pangnyu Phom said.

Of the total 32 positive COVID-19 cases, Kiphire recorded 18 cases, Peren reported 11, and 3 in Dimapur.

Of the total 11,634 confirmed COVID-19 cases, 629 are active and 10,812 have been cured and discharged so far. However, the state has not registered any death case yet.

As of December 10, Nagaland recorded 71 deaths out of which 61 were COVID related, 3 under investigation and 7 not COVID related.

COVID-19 in India:

India on Thursday recorded 29,398 new COVID-19 infections and 414 fresh fatalities. While the total cases rose to 97,96,770, the death toll mounted to 1,42,186. Meanwhile, the total number of active cases stood at 3,63,749, said the data shown by the Union Health Ministry. Besides, the country discharged 37,528 patients in the last 24 hours. India has, so far, reported 92,90,834 discharges.

The number of people who have recuperated from the disease surged to 92,90,834, pushing the national recovery rate to94.84 per cent. The COVID-19 case fatality rate stands at 1.45 per cent. The COVID-19 active caseload remained below 4 lakh for the fifth consecutive day.
