As the country’s capital is experiencing its second lowest winter season, Zunheboto, a small town in Nagaland, has received the season’s first snowfall.
The hilly northeastern state has been experiencing extreme cold over the past two days. Friday morning witnessed a drastic dip in its temperature.

The maximum temperature, according to reports, is between 7-14 degrees in Zunheboto and other districts like Phek, Tuensang, Kiphire, Peren and Kohima. The temperature falls to three degrees at night.
It may be mentioned here that Zunheboto receives snowfall every year. This year Luvishe village also witnessed snowfall after eleven years. On Friday, snowfall was also reported from Zavame village in Phek district under Pfütsero sub division, Kiutsukiur and Konya villages under Tuensang district, Phisame village under Kiphire district and Dzuleke under Kohima district.

Skymetweather forecast has predicted moderate rainfall and thunderstorm in Dimapur, Kiphire, Kohima, Longleng, Mokokchung, Mon, Peren, Phek, Tuensang, Wokha and Zunheboto the districts during the next twelve hours.
