GUWAHATI: If reports are to be believed, the Final Solution of the peace deal between the Naga political groups and the Government of India is unlikely to be announced before the Manipur Legislative Assembly Election which is likely to be held in February 2022.

According to reports, almost every issue has been settled except for the demand for separate flag and constitution by the NSCN-IM, which maintains that it was one of the core demands of the 'Framework Agreement' signed with the Modi Government in 2015.

It may be mentioned that the NNPGs had also demanded a separate territorial council for the Nagas in Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh in addition to their earlier stand.

Meanwhile, the NSCN faction led by Niki Sumi is also entering talks with the Government of India.

Meanwhile, the Nationalist Socialist Council Nagalim (hank-Muivah). NSCN (IM), recently objected to the one-man Peace March across Nagaland by a Tankhul Naga from Manipur, YS Mashungmi. The insurgent group said that such a one-man operation with the sensitive political implication is not authorized by NSCN. Interestingly, the man was carrying both Naga as well as Indian flags.
