The National Investigation Agency (NIA), in pursuance of the culprits behind the killing of Khonsa West MLA Tirong Aboh, conducted raids in the houses of two cadres of the Isaak-Muivah faction of Nationalist Socialist Council of Nagalim (NSCN) in Dimapur town of Nagaland on March 5.
Yesterday, the NIA conducted two raids -- the the houses of absconding accused Absalom alias Rockwang Tangkhul, a self-styled Major General of NSCN-IM and James Kiwang, another leader of the rebel outfit that is currently holding talks with the Government to solve the Naga insurgency.
During the raid, two quadrocopter drones, 14 rounds of .32 ammunition, digital devices including 22 mobile phones, 3 laptops, 1 tablet, 1 Apple Macbook, 1 pendrive, 2 memory cards, CDs and a few documents related to monetary transactions were seized.
It may be mentioned that on 10 July 2019, the NIA has re-registered a case RC-03/2019/NIA-GUW arising out of FIR no. 25/2019 dates 21 May 2019 under sections 302, 307 & 34 of IPC, 25 (1B)(A), 27 of Arms Act and Sections 10&18 of UA(P) Act, PS Khonsa, District Tirap of the State of Arunchal Pradesh.

The afore mentioned case is related to the gunning down of Arunachal MLA Tirong Aboh, whose convoy was attacked by suspected NSCN militants at Tirap. In the ambush, 11 persons including the MLA died on the spot and 3 persons were injured. NIA has so far filed chargesheets Luckin Mashangva, Jaikishan Sharma, Yangte Josaham and Napong Jenpi at the special NIA Court in Yupia, and further investigation has revealed that more NSCN (IM) cadres led by "Major General" Absolom and James Kiwang were also involved in the gunning down of the MLA.
