Kohima, July 13, 2019:

The Nationalist Socialist Council of Nagalim (Isaak-Muivah) (NSCN-IM) has opposed the Register of Indigenous Inhabitants of Nagaland (RIIN) stating that (RIIN) stating that all Nagas are 'indigenous' in their ancestral homeland, which is contigious.

The group, through a statement, has stated that it is the legitimate rights and political decision of the Naga people to live together under one political roof. "The Nagas do not and will not accept their division but imposed artificial state and international boundaries. This is the key focus of all Nagas and any political steps to be taken must be in conjunction with the decision", the NSCN-IM said.

Moreover, the NSCN-IM has stated that nothing is conclusive on the Naga issue until and unless a mutually agreed honorable political solution is signed between the two entities, and therefore any attempt to dilute the final political sentiment by justifying any past 'accord of treason' should be seriously viewed by all Nagas.

The NSCN (IM) has accused the present move of the Nagaland Government to implement RIIN as "contradictory to the inherent rights of the Nagas and further alleged that "it is politically motivated to sweep the interest of the groups advocating for the 16-point agreement".

"The Nagaland State doesn't and will not represent the national decision of the Naga people", the NSCN (IM) said in its statement.
