Temjen Imna Along Longkumer, who is the Nagaland Minister for Higher & Technical Education, was on Tuesday re-elected as the President of the State BJP for the tenure 2020- 2023. The election was held at Hotel Saramati in the State capital Kohima.
Imna Along and Dr. Sukhato Wotsa filed nominations to the post of State BJP President. However, Imna Along was elected as the President by consensus.
Earlier, Imna Along had become the State BJP President in June 2018, replacing Visasolie Lhoungu.
P. Paiwang Konyak, who is the Minister for Transport, Civil Aviation & Railways, was also elected as the BJP National Council Member.
Two senior-level BJP leaders, Saroj Pandey (National General Secretary) and Nitin Nabin, (MLA from Bihar), were also in attendance during the announcement ceremony.

It may be mentioned here that the saffron party is National BJP Presidential election. Electing new team of office bearers for all the BJP units in the country prior to the national party election is a tradition which the party has been following for a long time.
