Nagaland: Congress leader Jairam Ramesh criticises Union Minister Nitin Gadkari over poor highway conditions

In a recent development, Nagaland saw Congress leader Jairam Ramesh criticising Union Minister Nitin Gadkari amid the ongoing Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra which started in Manipur. 

The criticism was over the poor condition of highways during the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra. 

Ramesh expressed his dissatisfaction over the infrastructure and maintenance of the highways.

Congress General Secretary in-charge Communications, Jairam Ramesh says, "This is NH 29, you can see its condition. Nitin Gadkari and the Prime Minister say a lot of things...but this road is all stones and potholes. This is called a National Highway..."

"Rahul Gandhi will address a press conference at 1 pm, he will address the media..," he further says.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra entered Nagaland on Monday evening after spending two days in ethnic-violence hit Manipur where he interacted with civil society organisations and people from various walks of life.

As he left Manipur, Rahul posted on X, "Today Manipur is looking towards the entire country with hopeful eyes. We have to erase the pain from their eyes and light the 'lamp of hope'. Our journey is a balm of unity and love on the soul of India wounded by BJP's politics of division and neglect. We will walk together, we will fight together. To fight for justice, until we get it."
