The first session of the 17th Lok Sabha has begun today after the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections with the newly elected Members of Parliament.
The Union Budget will be presented by the newly formed Modi’s 2.0 government at the Centre during this session.
The government had earlier announced the interim budget ahead of the general elections in February.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi held an all-party meet to seek support for the smooth functioning of the parliament.
As per reports, the Union Budget 2019-20 will be presented on July 5.
In today’s parliamentary sitting, PM Modi has appealed all the members to work for the people.
Newly-inducted Union Minister Rameswar Teli is present and has been seen delivering important information on his department.
The Modi led government will revive the 46 bills which have lapsed in the earlier parliament sessions. The main focus will be laid on Triple talaq and other bills that are likely to be introduced are The Central Educational Institutions (Reservation in Teachers Cadre) Bill, 2019 and Aadhaar and Other Laws (Amendment) Bill 2019.
PM Narendra Modi invited MPs from both Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha for discussion over dinner on June 20 in which they will exchange views on various subjects.
Meanwhile, reports said that the election of the Speaker of the Lok Sabha will be done on June 19. Out of the 40 sittings, the Lok Sabha will have 30 sittings while the Rajya Sabha will have 27 sittings during the 40-day period of the first parliament session.
