4 dead in Mumbai blaze

Mumbai, Aug 22, 2018:

At least four persons, including an elderly woman, died and 16 others injured when a massive fire swept through a high-rise building here on Wednesday. One fireman was also among those injured.

According to reports, the fire, which broke out on 12^th floor of the 17-storeyed Crystal Tower apartment located in Parel area, quickly spread to the 13^th floor and adjacent flats, trapping many of the 100-plus residents in the building.

Twelve 12 fire tenders, a snorkel and other advanced equipment were rushed to the site to combat the inferno.

The firemen managed to rescue another 20 stranded persons.

Though the exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, electric short circuit is suspected to be due to an electric short circuit.
