On 24 July, working on a credible source information, a Special Task Force (STF) Kolkata arrested two Bangladeshi Nationals who are members of Neo-JMB/IS (Islamic State or ISIS) a banned terror outfit, from the vicinity of West Bengal's Sealdah Railway Station parking lot and recovered a mobile phone containing incriminating photos, videos, jehadi text and literature and some books on 'Jihad'.
The apprehended persons have been identified as Mohammad Jiaur Rahman (aged 44), and Mamonur Rashid (aged 33). It may be mentioned that both of the apprehendees are Bangladeshi nationals.
Based on information received from them, two other members of the same outfit Neo-JMB/IS (ISIS) were arrested from the vicinity of Howrah Railway Station and Jihadi literature was seized from their possession early in the morning on June 25.
The two militants who were apprehended today have been identified as Sahin Alam alias Alamin (aged 23) from Bangladesh, and Robiul Islam (aged 35), from West Bengal.
It has been reported that the three arrested Bangladeshi Persons have taken shelter in India to escape arrest in Bangladesh and further were also involved in recruitment and collection of funds for organisation in India too.
The arrested Indian national was also a member of the organisation and helped them by harbouring as well as recruiting and collecting fund from India.
They were active in social media propagating their agenda and a lot of digital documents, videos and audio files along with Jihadi booklets were recovered from possession.
The main motive of their organisation was to overthrow democratic government in India and Bangladesh and establish Sharia law under a caliphate.
In yet another setback to insurgency, Habib-ur-Rahman, accused in the Burdhwan blast case, has been arrested by the NIA today near Bangalore.
