New Delhi, December 19, 2019:

Amidst the ongoing furor over the contentious Citizenship Amendment Act, a stunning visual has emerged that shows Bharat Sharma, an Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) leader kicking a protester.

In a video shared by the popular Twitter account, 'History of India', Sharma can be seen kicking an anti-Citizenship Amendment Act protester and then hurling expletives at the man.

According to Sharma's Facebook profile, he is a State Executive Member of the ABVP, and also a volunteer of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), the ideological mentors of the ruling party BJP.

Sharma's action has drawn the ire of the Twitterati, who have condemned the ABVP member of using force to stop the protest. Many users even called for legal action against Sharma and demanded that he be put behind bars.

According to reports, the footage was captured at a Citizenship Amendment Act protest, where the unrest over the C(A)A has reached fever-pitch amid the ongoing protests across the nation.

It may be mentioned here that hooliganism by ABVP members amidst the ongoing protests has been reported from various parts of Delhi.
