The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), the student body of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), has landed in the soup once again after a video clip emerged in which the student body's members were seen "threatening" a Kerala student for opposing the Citizenship Amendment Act.

In a video that is now doing the rounds on social media, two ABVP members can be seen intimidating a student, allegedly for taking part in a protest against the amendment of the Citizenship Act. The two ABVP workers are seen repeatedly asking the student whether he supports the C(A)A or not. Then, they repeatedly question him and heckle him, suspecting him to be a C(A)A protester

Prominent journalist Neha Dixit, sharing the video on social media platform Twitter, said, "ABVP activists heckling a student from Kerala at Chhatra Marg over his position on

 

rel="tag" data-query-source="hashtag_click" data-scribe="element:hashtag">#CAA.They are also desperate to make a concise video to give a message loud & clear to dissenters." Dixit also identified one of the hecklers as Jitender Chaudhary, a District Convenor of the ABVP.

The video has, meanwhile, racked over 100,000 views on video and has been 'liked' over 6,000 times by users.

Meanwhile, netizens have come down heavily on the ABVP members for heckling the student and shooting and releasing the video online.

Meanwhile, protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act continue unabated across the nation. In Delhi, where the impact of the protests is intensifying with each passing day, the Government has temporarily suspended railway services. Over in Bengaluru, noted historian and activist, Ramchandra Guha, has been detained in a C(A)A protest. Protests have also reached several other parts of the world, with NRIs staging protests against the controversial legislation.
