Diphu, August 19, 2019:

Union Home Minister Amit Shah was the key dignitary at the foundation stone laying ceremony of Karbi Bhawan and Dimasa Bhawan at Dwarka, Sector 13, Plot 11 and 12 in New Delhi. Each project costs Rs. 62 crore.

During the occasion, Home Minister Amit Shah said “The project cost does not matter, but rather, the purpose, which is why I chose to attend. This Karbi Bhawan and Dimasa Bhawan will give exposure to the culture of the Karbi and Dimasa tribe to the people of India."

Shah said that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has the Northeast in his mind and charged that during the Congress rule, the NE stayed backward, but claimed that the BJP has taken the region towards development.

Blowing the bugle of development in the Northeast, Shah said, "The BJP is implementing developmental schemes. I have urged the minister of DoNER to open a Centre for medicinal plants in NE.."

"Within 5 years Prime Minister Narendra Modi has increased the funding of NE to 258%  with the 13th and 14th Finance Commission from the previous Congress governments", Shah said.

He listed Bamboo Industry Park in Dima Hasao, Government Law College in Diphu, Media Centre in Haflong etc among the projects being taken up from the Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasao. He said the BJP is for bringing forward the tribes in India.

Chief Minister, Sarbananda Sonowal, speaking on the occasion said, “I thanked the CEM of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council, Tuliram Ronghang and CEM of NC Hills Autonomous Council Debolal Garlosa for working hard for project. The Bhawans are not only for the Karbi and Dimasas but for the all of Assam."

Chief Executive Member (CEM), Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC), Tuliram Ronghang, and Assam Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma were among the key dignitaries present during the stone laying ceremony.
