N Chandrababu Naidu, the current Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, has categorically stated that his party, the TDP (Telegu Desam Party) will oppose the Bill and will vote against the Bill if it is raised in the Rajya Sabha.
Speaking to InsideNE from outside the Indian Parliament, he said: "What the BJP is doing is bad. They are not discussing sensitive areas, they are not following ‘Raj dharma’. They are doing as they like and thus, creating more and more problems for this country. Integration of this country is important and they are violating that principle also”, he said.
Upon being asked whether his party will vote against it, he said: “We will stay in opposition.” It is to be mentioned that the Bill would require a 2/3rd majority in order to become an Act.
