"Another Strike on Pakistan": Amit Shah after India Destroy PakPakistan

New Delhi, June 17, 2019:

Union Home Minister Amit Shah raised quite a few eyebrows when he compared India's win over Pakistan to the Balakot airstrikes carried out by the Indian Air Force (IAF) after the dastardly terror attack in Pulwama. He made this comments after the Indian cricket team inflicted a humiliating 89-run defeat on their arch-rivals Pakistan in the 2019 World Cup match at Old Trafford in Manchester.

Taking to Twitter, the Home Minister Amit Shah wrote: "Another strike on Pakistan by and the result is same. Congratulations to the entire team for this superb performance. Every Indian is feeling proud and celebrating this impressive win. #INDvPAK"

The 2019 Balakot airstrike was conducted by India in the early morning hours of February 26 when Indian warplanes crossed the de facto border in the disputed region of Kashmir and dropped bombs in the vicinity of the town of Balakot in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in Pakistan.

Pakistan's military, the first to announce the airstrike on February 26 morning, described the Indian planes as dropping their payload in an uninhabited wooded hilltop area near Balakot.

India had said that the strikes were a "preemptive" strike and claimed that Jaish-e-Mohammed training camps had been destroyed, although the number of casualties remains highly debated to this day.

The boys from India (also known as the ‘Men in Blue’) have registered a thumping win against arch rivals Pakistan in a World Cup 2019 Group match held on Sunday. After posting a dominating 337/5, the ‘Men in Blue’ restricted Pakistan to 212/6. India won the match by 86 runs by the Duckworth-Lewis method.

The Pakistani batsmen came up short while chasing a mammoth total of 337. Chasing such a mammoth total in such a high-pressure encounter was always going to be a tough ask, and Pakistan were foiled by a disciplined Indian bowling lineup. Among the Pakistani batsmen, Babar Azam (48) and Fakhar Zaman (62) showed some resistance, but could only delay the inevitability of an Indian win.
