Guwahati, 13 January 2019:
In a shocking incident, a jawan of the Indian Army was arrested by Rajasthan Police on Sunday for leaking out sensitive documents after being allegedly honey trapped by a Pakistani female agent.
The Army Jawan, identified as Sombir, was posted in the Armoured Corps in Rajasthan's Jaisalmer district.
"The jawan has been arrested in Jaisalmer by the Rajasthan Police and the Army is providing all possible assistance to the civilian authorities in this investigation," Defence PRO Colonel Sambit Ghosh told ANI.
If local newspaper reports are to be believed, around 50 soldiers of the Indian Army are under the scanner for being allegedly honey trapped by ISI agents in Rajasthan and passing on important and highly sensitive documents of the Army.
To check if more jawans or officers are in touch of these Pakistani operatives, the Army is now tracking multiple Facebook accounts.
The soldier has been accused of allegedly sending pictures of weapons and locations to the Pakistani agent.
A probe has been ordered in the issue.
