In a ferocious encounter in the forest area of Gulshanpora Tral that is still going on, three militants were gunned down by brave jawans. But Indian forces received damage too as three of the jawans engaged in the gunfight suffered injuries. The injured jawans have been transferred to the army’s 92-Base hospital in Srinagar. Reports from the area say that firing has started anew after a period of lull.
The army’s 42 RR, SOG and CRPF launched a cordon-and-search based on intel that Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorists were hiding in the area. The gunfight broke out when the security forces cornered the three suspected militants. Local authorities have informed that the encounter is in its final stages and one or two militants are believed to be hiding in the area. It is to be mentioned that encounters in the valley had increased last year with security forces killing 248 terrorists and nabbing 58 others.
