Ayodhya Row: Sunni Waqf Board not to File Review Petition

New Delhi, November 26, 2019:

The Uttar Pradesh Sunni Waqf Board said that it will not fie the review petition, challenging the Supreme Court’s verdict on Ayodhya land dispute.

It has decided to go ahead with the apex court’s decision to build a temple on the previous site of Babri Masjid.

Board member Abdul Razzaq Khan informed that in the meeting held to discuss the future course of action on the Ayodhya verdict, the review petition should not be filed.

It may be mentioned here that the Supreme Court, in its verdict, gave its nod for the construction of Ram Mandir. A total of 2.77-acre land has been given to the Hindu parties by the Supreme Court with a trust to be formed by the Centre to monitor the construction of a Ram Mandir.

The Court also said that the Sunni Waqf Board would receive 5 acres of alternate land, accorded either by the state or the Centre.
