Dadlani, who is one-half of the renowned Vishal-Shekhar musical duo, posted a video on social media, where he queries, "At a time when the economy is in doldrums, does it make sense? If you do not have food in your houses, does it make sense to invite your neighbors for a party?"
The 'Malhaari' singer further piles on. "Indian youths are not finding employment, and farmers are committing suicide en masse, why are bringing outsiders for vote bank? You are distributing our limited resources."
Adding that he does not have any issues with refugees, Dadlani says he is baffled at the timing of this legislation. "What are you thinking? What are you understanding? Why are you misleading people? This does not make sense."

It may be mentioned here that protests against the amendment of the Citizenship Act, which is largely seen as a move by the ruling BJP party to secure its vote bank, have gripped the entire nation.
The protests, which initially began in parts of the volatile Northeast Indian states, where the apprehensions regarding the influx of migrants are the highest, have now spread like a wildfire to other parts of the country as well.
In several parts of India -- such as Guwahati in Assam and Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh -- the protests took a violent turn as protesters clashed with security personnel, leading to several casualties on the protesters' side.
Meanwhile, the protests against the Bill-turned-Act have also reached foreign shores. Decrying the "unconstitutional" nature of this Act, foreign bodies such as the United Nations have also urged the BJP-led Indian Government to re-think the move. However, the Union Government -- and Home Minister Amit Shah -- remain defiant and have ruled out the chances of a rollback.
