New Delhi, May 17, 2019:

Congress President Rahul Gandhi has finally come to a realization and the Congress leader and Prime Ministerial hopeful took to Twitter to share his epiphany with the world. Taking to the micro-blogging site, he wrote: "I finally got it. The BJP and the RSS... Are not God-Ke Lovers. They are God-Se Lovers."

Ouch!

In less than twenty words, Rahul has launched a scathing attack on the BJP party and its ideology. Rahul, of course, was referring to BJP candidate Sadhvi Pragya's controversial remark that Mahatma Gandhi's assassin Nathuram Godse was a great "patriot".

Pragya had said: "Nathuram Godse was a ‘deshbhakt’ (patriot), is a ‘deshbhakt’ and will remain a ‘deshbhakt’. People calling him a terrorist should instead look within, such people will be given a befitting reply in these (Lok Sabha) elections."

This shocking statement drew much criticism from both sides of the political spectrum, but some, like Karnataka member of Parliament Nalin Kumar Kateel came to Pragya's rescue, stating that former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi's crimes far outweighs Godse's.

Thus, Rahul's comment comes as no surprise as it is well-known fact that some fringe elements of the BJP party do indeed support religious fundamentalists like Godse, who is a revered figure in some circles.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, meanwhile, has finally come forward to denounce Pragya. The Prime Minister said that he would never be able to forgive her for "insulting" Bapu.

The BJP tweeted PM Modi as saying in an interview a tv channel: "The comments on Gandhi and Godse are deplorable, disgusting and are not language fit for civilised society. Those who say such things should think 100 times. It is a different issue that they have apologized, but I will not be able to forgive them from my heart."

But the biggest question that arises is, if the BJP party really disagrees with Pragya's statement, why is the Malegaon-blast accused being to contest the election on a BJP ticket?
