Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and former foreign minister Sushma Swaraj passed away a while ago at AIIMS in New Delhi on Tuesday. She was 67.
It has been reported that she was rushed to AIIMS earlier after suffering a heart attack.
Her last tweet had been one congratulating PM Modi for abrogating Article 370 and 35A, posted at around 7:30 pm.
Born on 14 February, 1952, Sushma Swaraj was an Indian politician and a former Supreme Court lawyer. She was a stalwart of the BJP party.
A senior leader of Bharatiya Janata Party, Swaraj was serving as the Minister of External Affairs of India from 26 May 2014 to 30 May 2019; she was the second woman to hold the office, after Indira Gandhi.
