SRINAGAR: Three Indian army soldiers, a Border Security Force (BSF) personnel, and three civilians (including a woman) have been killed while three army men have been injured in multiple ceasefire violations by Pakistan in Jammu and Kashmir.
"An infiltration bid was foiled in the Keran sector following which the Pakistan army resorted to ceasefire violation in multiple sectors in north Kashmir," an official said.
“Pakistan initiated unprovoked Ceasefire Violation along the LoC spread across multiple sectors to include Dawar, Keran, Uri & Naugam. Pakistan used Mortars & other weapons. Pakistan deliberately targeted civilian areas,” Rajesh Kalia, Srinagar based army PRO said.
According to reports, three army men were killed in action in Baramulla district, while BSF personnel also lost his life in the Naugam sector in the Kupwara district.

“Own troops retaliated strongly causing substantial damage to Pakistan Army's infrastructure and casualities across the LoC. Several ammunition dumps, FOL dumps and multiple terrorists launch pads have been damaged ,” he said.
At least 12 civilians have been injured in the ceasefire violations. The injured civilians are being treated at different hospitals in Jammu and Kashmir.
Three were killed in Baramulla district which included a woman while five civilians were hurt in the Gurez sector of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district. According to reports, some residents have taken refuge in underground bunkers.
Indian Army sources have confirmed that 7-8 Pakistan Army soldiers have been killed in retaliatory firing by Indian Army in response to ceasefire violations from across Line of Control. The list of Pakistan Army soldiers killed includes 2-3 Pakistan Army Special Service Group (SSG) commandoes.
