LUCKNOW: Several vehicles of Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra's cavalcade bumped into one another at Uttar Pradesh's Hapur Road when the party’s UP general secretary was on enroute to Rampur to meet the family of farmer Navneet Singh, who had died when a tractor overturned on him during the Republic Day violence in Delhi.

No injury has been reported in the incident though. At least four cars were left with minor damages. The accident took place due to sudden applying of brakes by one of the vehicles.

On Republic Day, as the protesting farmers held a tractor march, a group of farmers broke through police barricades and entered ITO and clashed with the police.

In the ensuing violence, the 27-year-old Singh died allegedly after his tractor overturned after ramming into a barricade.

Delhi Police had released CCTV footage showing the farmer`s tractor overturning after ramming into barricades at ITO.

After taking stock of the well being of the occupants of the cars, Priyanka Gandhi left for Rampur an met family members of Navneet Singh. She attended a prayer ceremony for him.

Accompanied by senior Congress leaders, including party's Uttar Pradesh unit chief Ajay Kumar Lallu, Gandhi arrived at the native Dibdiba village of the deceased farmer around noon.

She attended the antim ardas (final prayers for the departed) and sat with family members with her head veiled.
