Civilian Killed in Ceasefire Violation by Pak Forces at Bordercivilian

J&K, October 20, 2019:

Two soldiers and one civilian have been killed after a ceasefire violation by Pakistan troops in Jammu and Kashmir's Kupwara district, police said. Three other civilians have also been injured.

As per reports, the incident took place in the Tanghar sector of Kupwara. Two houses were also damaged. In similar incidents, two army soldiers were killed in separate incidents after Pakistan fired along the LoC in Baramulla and Rajouri.

The ceasefire violations along the Line of Control with Pakistan have seen an upsurge since the scrapping of Article 370 and 35A, which granted special powers to Kashmiris.

In July, there were 296 cases of ceasefire violations, 307 in August and 292 in September.

It may be mentioned here that till September this year, Pakistan had committed more than 2,050 unprovoked ceasefire violations. 21 civilians have died so far in these attacks. India signed a ceasefire agreement with Pakistan in 2003.
