The judgment on the Ram Janambhoomi-Babri Masjid title dispute was reserved on October 16 after a continuous hearing of 40 days.

Nearly 4,000 paramilitary personnel have been dispatched to be deployed in Uttar Pradesh, particularly in Ayodhya by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) ahead of the Supreme Court verdict.

The development took place in order to ensure that no untoward incident is reported. The ministry has sent 40 companies of paramilitary forces comprising about 100 personnel to Uttar Pradesh to assist the state government in maintaining law and order.

The Supreme Court judgment on the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid title dispute is expected before November 17. The date is significant as Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi will be retiring on that very day.
