The number of coronavirus positive cases in India has risen to 29,435, while the death toll stands at 934. There are 21,632 active cases in the country, while 6,869 have been cured from the infection.
Maharashtra remains the worst-hit state with 8,590 cases, while Gujarat is second on the list with 3,548 cases. Delhi has reported 3,108 cases of the virus up until this point.
Earlier today, the Ministry of Health issued guidelines for home isolation of very mild/pre-symptomatic COVID-19 cases. Among other recommendations, the patients have been advised to take hydroxychloroquine prophylaxis as a drug to fight the infection.
It may be mentioned here that Prime Minister Narendra Modi yesterday interacted with chief ministers via video conference today, likely to discuss an “exit strategy” from the lockdown. Meanwhile, the nation stares at the possibility of a lockdown 3.0, with all eyes on the PM's next address to the nation.
International Tally:
Globally, 3,065,156 cases of the coronavirus have been detected thus far. While 922,862 people have recovered, 211,631 people succumbed to death. There are 1,930,663 active cases, and (3%) patients are in “serious condition.”
The US, the worst-hit country, has reported 1,010,507 cases overall and 56,803 deaths have been reported so far.
