GUWAHATI: The National Expert Group on Vaccine Administration for COVID-19 has recommended vaccines for all lactating women today in a released notification.
The notification signed under the name of Rajesh Bhushan, Secretary, NEGVAC stated that the recommendations were made upon scientific evidence and experience from across the globe and it was accepted by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

Other recommendations made by the committee are as followed --
1. If one tests positive for COVID-19 the vaccination will get deferred by 3 months of recovery.
2. If one tests positive after getting the first dose of vaccine then the second dose will get deferred by 3 months and the same goes for the people given anti-COVID-19 antibodies.
3. Person with a serious illness requiring hospitalization or ICU care should also wait for 4-8 weeks before getting vaccinated.
4. One can donate blood after 14 days of either getting vaccinated or testing RT-PCR negative if suffered from COVID-19.
5. No requirement of RAT prior to COVID vaccination.
